MISS GREATER GREER TEEN CONTESTANTS NEW THIS YEAR: Miss Greater Greer Teen will receive $250.00 Savings Bond. You must be at least 13 years old (8th grade) and no older than 16 years old (11th grade) on the day of the local competition to compete as a teen contestant. If you are interested in participating in the 2010 Miss Greater Greer Teen Competition, please complete the application provided above and return it to the Local Executive Director with the application check as provided on the application. Teen Contestants will compete in: * Interview - 6 minute interview with judges with no opening or closing statements * On Stage Question - Contestants to wear interview attire on stage * Physical Fitness - Contestants to provide black shorts and tennis shoes; Pageant will provide t-shirts. * Talent - Talent Routine should be no longer than 90 seconds * Evening Gown - Contestant to wear gown of choice OPENING NUMBER - Contestants are asked to wear a black coctail dress of their choice. Teen Contestants considering competition should: 1. U.S.A. Freedom Corps . . . Sign up to begin logging in your volunteer and community service hours. Hours from July 2009 through June 2010 may be applied towards the total number of hours for the year. Click here for sign up information. 2. Children's Miracle Network . . . Sign up as a 2010 Miss Greater Greer Teen Contestant. Ask family and friends to make a tax deductible contribution to your account on your behalf. No set collection is required. Click here for sign up information. 3. Platform . . . Select a platform you plan to support and work with during your year of service if selected Miss Greater Greer Teen and begin working now in your community with your platform. 4. OPTIONAL . . . Program Book Support Page - Contestants can participate in having a support page in the program book. Page is due at the Contestant's Meeting on October 6. Contestants must collect at least 20 signatures at $5.00 each. The Teen Contestant with the most signatures will win $100.00 savings bond. MISS GREATER GREER CONTESTANTS Over $2,000 anticipated to be awarded in cash scholarships. Additional in-kind scholarships from area colleges and universities will also be available. You must be 17 years old (12th grade) and no older than 24 years old on the day of the local competition to compete as a Miss contestant. (NOTE: You must not be older than 24 as of December 31, 2010.) If you are interested in participating in the 2010 Miss Greater Greer Competition, please complete the application provided above and return it to the Local Executive Director as provided on the application. Miss Contestants will compete in: * Interview - 10 minute interview with judges, including a 30 second closing statement * On Stage Question - Contestants to wear interview attire on stage * Physical Fitness - Contestants to wear swimsuit of choice * Talent - Talent Routine should be no longer than 90 seconds * Evening Gown - Contestant to wear gown of choice OPENING NUMBER - Contestants are asked to wear a black coctail dress of their choice.
